Some fantastic hockey games proudly played in Brian’s memory,

So many talented young players all playing with great intensity,

And teams working together, trying hard to pull off a victory!

But this weekend is really about something a whole lot more,

‘Cause hockey builds great friendships, regardless of the score,

Always laughing, growing, learning, & helping each other out,

Memories that we’ll keep forever, are really what it is all about!

Just in case you never met him, please allow me to introduce,

My friend Brian Williams Doucette, known to many as "Douce",

Flying down the ice, scoring, (perhaps a penalty once in a while),

And hiding behind his "hockey hair", the world’s greatest smile!

As the borders are erased between the two great states he loves,

So be sure to make some room for him, in all you say and do!

Today might also be a good time to stop and really appreciate,

All of the people around you that truly make hockey so great,

Your friends & teammates, coaches, family, each and every fan,

So be sure to take a moment to thank them any time you can!

‘Til the clock winds down on the championship game at the end,

And never take for granted this wonderful game we love to play!
